The Irish CV format, in 60 seconds

No photo, no age

Irish CVs never carry a photo, date of birth or marital status. Employers can’t ask, so don’t offer.

Two pages, tops

One page early in your career, two once you have history. Older jobs shrink to a single line.

Achievements, not duties

“Cut stock loss by 15%” beats “responsible for stock”. Verbs first, numbers where possible.

References on request

Don’t list referees’ names and numbers — one line saying they’re available is the Irish norm.

Questions people ask

Two pages maximum, no photo, no date of birth, no marital status. Contact details at the top, then a short personal profile, work experience in reverse order (newest first) with achievement bullet points, education, skills, and "references available on request". That’s exactly the format this builder produces.

No. Photos are not expected on Irish CVs and most recruiters prefer CVs without them — it also avoids any suggestion of bias. The same goes for your age, date of birth and PPS number: leave them off.

Two pages is the standard. One page is fine if you’re early in your career. Anything over two pages is likely to be skimmed or skipped — cut older roles down to a line or two.

It’s the 2–4 sentence summary at the top: who you are professionally, your strongest results, and what you’re looking for. Recruiters spend seconds on a first scan, so a sharp profile earns the rest of your CV a proper read.

Start each with a verb and include a number where you can: "Cut stock loss by 15%", "Trained 8 new starters". Duties tell; achievements sell. Three to five bullets per recent job is plenty.

Completely free, no sign-up, no watermark. Everything you type stays in your own browser (saved locally so you can come back to it) — nothing is uploaded to any server.

PDF, unless the job ad asks for Word. PDF keeps your layout intact on any device. This builder gives you both: download .docx to edit further, or print to PDF when you’re happy.
